Emergency Plumbing And HVAC Tips

The professional plumbers and HVAC techs at Brothers Plumbing Heating & Electric decided we should provide our customers with some emergency tips for keeping your home fully functional during the recent public health event. We also felt that now would be a good time to remind our customers that we’re doing everything possible to help prevent the spread of disease. Also, rest assured, we’re still offering both regular and emergency services (albeit with more extensive safety precautions in place). Contact us to schedule a service call today!

What Is Brother’s Doing To Help Protect The Safety Of Our Customers?

Brothers Plumbing, Heating & Electric is taking precautions, and we understand how important it is to protect your home and loved ones. Brothers technicians will wear gloves and shoe covers, wash their hands, and have disinfectant wipes easily accessible in their trucks. The safety of your home is always our priority, not only during these challenging times.

While we implement health and safety standards daily, we also wanted to inform you of the extra steps we take during these trying times. So, to help keep our customers extra safe, we’re:

  • Closely monitoring updates and recommendations from the C.D.C. (Center for Disease Control)
  • Wearing latex gloves whenever appropriate
  • Regularly sanitizing our service trucks and tools
  • Continuing to wear shoe covers when entering or working in your home or business
  • Increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting our offices and warehouse
  • Making a concerted effort to emphasize the importance of handwashing across our entire staff
  • We instructed any team member to stay home if they experience a fever or other flu-like symptoms

Tip 1 – Now Is The Time To Repair Or Replace Your Electronic Air Cleaners

Electronic air cleaners do precisely what their name implies they do: clean and sanitize the air with electricity. They come in a couple of different styles.

Some cleaners use PHI Technology (Photohydroionzation) that uses U.V. lights mounted inside an air handler. The UV light kills up to 99% of all airborne pathogens, allergens, and molds that come in contact with it.

The other electronic air cleaner uses REME Technology, which eliminates all the same things as the PHI models but with the added benefit of removing particulates.

With the recent public health event, now is a great time to either get a new electronic air cleaner installed or have your aging one replaced or repaired. Fortunately, we offer fast, reliable, affordable electronic air cleaner services, even during these trying times. So, if you have (or want) an electric air cleaner now is the time to contact our HVAC and electrical professionals team.

Tip 2 – Don’t Flush Anything But Toilet Paper Down The Toilet

Right now, toilet paper is rapidly becoming a valuable resource. It’s unlikely that anyone will entirely run out., But it is possible. So, if you run out, our professional plumbers urge you NOT to flush anything down the toilet. Remember, only toilet paper and human waste should ever go down your toilet drain. Flushing other paper products (and anything else) down the toilet can cause severe clogs and obstructions and even break drain pipes and sewer lines. So, if you run out of toilet paper, please find another way to clean yourself. Remember, it’s not worth creating a secondary plumbing emergency because you ran out of T.P.
