Celebrating their 66th year, Jefferson Center is a nonprofit, community-focused mental health care and substance use services provider. Their vision is to inspire hope, improve lives, and strengthen our community by providing mental health and related solutions for individuals and families. They take a community approach to assisting those with mental health and substance issues by doing things like providing individual and group therapies, peer specialist support services, wellness classes and coaching, as well as a variety of other services to help individuals work through the difficulties that are presented with regularly.
Recently, they turned their attention towards homelessness. Realizing that many individuals that deal with homelessness are also dealing with mental health and/or substance abuse. They felt they had a unique opportunity to use their knowledge and knowhow to help. They have been working with the state to build subsidized housing for individuals that are trying to put their lives back together. These apartment complexes would include onsite therapy, job placement assistance and more to help these individuals.
